Have you ever considered painting your trim?

Thanks for your response pennydesign! I would love to paint all the trim white but my husband doesn't want to and we have so much trim I think it would be a huge/expensive job.

When possible it is best to go lighter than the trim. A slightly darker trim is quite acceptable (from a design stand point). So long as the UNDERTONES are the same you are fine.

Please take more photos during DAYLIGHT hours. You will find the difference between night time (artificial lighting) and natural light can be MASSIVE. Undertones show up in daylight but can disappear or morph during artificial lighting.

If it were me, I would go ahead and purchase one box of each product. I would then lay out the planks and place them in each and every room to see them in all 5 lighting conditions through a day. That means if you have 7 rooms to refinish, you will move the planks 7 times over 7 days.

I think you are on the right track but we won't know for sure until you send more photos during daylight hours.

Picked up a box of planks today to try out!

For me, it's too busy, although I do understand that you're trying to marry light and oak shades...

It is a strong looking floor. It will become the star/boss of the home. It will turn rustic very quickly. The upside is it will work very well with the trim and the stairs.

Too busy, find a nice butterscotch tone, I think Mannington has one and it works beautifully. Otherwise, go with a lighter solid tone.

Court, I'm going through this same dilemma. What did you decide? Any photos you'd like to share?

When your entire home is oak, trim , cabinets, stairway, and doors how do you select flooring? The Kitchen and family room flo together with hard in family room and tile in kitchen

• Cumaru real hardwood on the main floor.

We’re very happy with how both look with the oak trim and cabinets!
