Design Dilemma Bathrooms

Bathroom retile help

I live an old 50's house that we plan on renovating in the next 3-5 years. We are looking to retile our guest bath, (retile around tub, retile floor and put a new countertop in). Because we plan on tearing the bathroom apart, we are just trying to clean it up and make it functional for a baby and guests. I am thinking white subway tile around the bath and something simple for the floor with a light quartz counter.

Any ideas for the floor tile? Or better ideas for the countertop that are relatively cheap? My design skills are pretty limited.

I think your bath looks fine for now. I would likely save my $$ toward the eventual redo. Just scrub the livin' daylights outta this one. Maybe add some colorful towels, accessories, a fun piece of art.

It probably does in these pictures, I may leave the countertop, but the floor is peel and stick tiles that are coming up, and were never grouted so there are spacings with dirt and gunk that can't be cleaned. Also there are some missing shower tiles and it probably needs to be regrouted anyway. It will be the main bathroom for our baby, and because of that, would like it to be a little cleaner than it is now.
