It's not Big Daddy. My Big Daddy is cupped and catches debris. Mine is so cupped that it will hold water.

The flowers are like Blue Angel’s in shape and height. I can’t tell if the color is right from the photo. The round corrugated leaves look like Clear Fork River Valley. I’ll go look at my CFRV today to see what it’s flowers look like.

My CFRV can do a pretty good imitation of blue in the spring, then greens up pretty quick.

Hmmmmm....I thought for sure it was Elegans today but now...I don't know!

I just bought a sea lotus leaf from Sebright Gardens. When i saw your pics it immediately reminded me of it - especially the swirling overlap at the point where the leaf joins the petiole. Looked it up in Hosta Library and it looks like it and the flower color appears right. When i saw that it was on your list of prior purchases that sealed it for me.

The thing that makes me still lean toward Elegans is that mine is definitely a blue-blue/green. It is not dark green like all of the CFRVs that I see, even sited in tons of sun.

I think I'd call it Elegans. Elegans is widely variable. It's an old variety and has been reproduced both by division and probably by tissue culture. Read what it says about Elegans in the hostalibrary.org.

Here is my Elegans, Blue Angel, whatever: I call it Blue Angel until something tells me otherwise.

Maybe 4 years old from a division. 2' tall, flower scape 3' tall. Love how leafs stay off the ground.

Confirmed this is Elegans and is massive this year
