Lighting Stacked Cabinets

I didn't think I wanted our glass stacked cabinets to be lighted, but now that they're in, I think I might like them lit. I definitely prefer strip LED lighting best (like we have under the cabinets), but I'm not sure how we'd go about installing the lights now that the cabinets are already installed. My husband can install and hardwire the lights and we already have a dimmable switch to operate them. What would be the best way to put the lights in at this point, if at all? Should they be taped onto the inside top of each door or installed a different way?

We just do it on the two long sides of the wall cabinet....not all 4. It's always best to match your kelvins. Some of the newer LED razor cans are adjustable...which is nice.

We use the tape light undercabinet and INSIDE the cabinets.

We use tape light. Install on front frame. Fully illuminates entire cabinet. you don't even have to have glass shelves, if you have any glass door cabinets with shelves.

The Kitchen Place, do you recommend taping the light all the way around the inside of the glass door, on all four sides of the glass? Would 3,000K be good or should we install the 4200K to match under cabinets?

Can anyone else offer some advice about how to install the strip lighting on the frame? Do we just do each side of the frame or all the way around? And should we use 3,000K or 4,200K to match the lights under the cabinets? They will be on a dimmer.

Thanks luckyblueeye. It's a new display. Flush inset uppers and frameless (full overlay) bases. The BEST of both worlds of cabinetry, IMHO. Not done yet. :-) Tile guy is booked to sept.

That's the cabinet combo that I'm doing also...inset uppers and full overlay (with frame dividers) lowers. Thank you for sharing the details regarding lighting, I will follow your advice.

@The Kitchen Place - How is the tape lighting controlled, i.e turned on manually or with a switch? Is it hard wired from each cabinet to the next? I was overwhelmed at the electrical walk-thru and said no to upper cabinet lighting. I do have everything roughed in for LEDs for under cabinet lighting. The cabinet maker is working on building the boxes now and we have time before installing, but I'm not sure I can change the electrical since there is no hard wiring prepped for any upper cabinet lighting. If I could make that change, any advice you have about how to prep things for tape lighting in the uppers would be so appreciated!
