Takes some really hot weather, it seems, for Emmerich's teeth, thistles, chains, etc. to be prominent. I hope we get another thunderstorm tomorrow.

It seems daylily season is starting late everywhere across the country. Mine is at least 2 weeks behind. So I wait. That is the bad news. The good news is that so far we have had adequate rainfall, in comparison to 3 years of summer drought in a row. My daylily plants are looking the best they have in years. I do hope you get more rain. I'm glad to hear you are getting at least some and I hope it helps. That first one really caught my eye (you know, PURPLE)! I look forward to seeing more of your photos!

Well, at least you should have daylilies for a good while. I particular like Deep Waters and From Darkness Comes Light.

Thundering outside right now, I am getting tired of rain, even though we had 4 days without any, or not much anyway. Most of my plants have been late too. I really like the 1st 2 also, you know how I like watermarks. The dark stems really make from Darkness Comes Light interesting

I got my first bloom of the year yesterday on Purple Maze. Our season is really late too. Here she is!

We got 1.87 inches of rain last night (thankfully not all within a very short amount of time), yay!

With blooms being delayed, I am really glad that I did not take this whole week of work off like I normally would have. I took next week off though, so hopefully things start blooming around here! There were no FFOs today. I think another one of my new Emmerich ones will have an FFO tomorrow.

I am not happy with my iphone pictures, they look accurate color wise on my phone, but not when I look at them on my pc or on this post. I thought I would try something different by using my phone, but I am going to go back to using my old camera. Here's another pic of Broken Chains that looks more true to color, this is a different bloom that was open today.

Glad you got some rain! We get some almost everyday, the late afternoon heat build-up kind. So, if I get out I can enjoy them and they stay well watered too.
