Personally I would go and get the correct cap and replace as soon as possible. The voltage rating of the cap can be equal or higher to the original, however the mF need to match exactly. As I understand it, this can cause higher energy use and cause the windings to over heat and kill the motor in question. Call the company back and have them replace it with the correct cap or just get one and replace it yourself, they are inexpensive. So called PRO's really should not do this or anyone for that matter.

You can get them off Amazon, I recommend AMRAD. They are more costly, however they are American made and will last longer than these cheap imports people are using in mass these days. If you decide to change it yourself, be careful. You are dealing with high voltages and the cap will need to be properly discharged before handling to be safe. Make sure you shut off the main power disconnect at the condenser before attempting to replace.

Yes, after you've turned off the power, short the capacitor contacts with a screwdriver or you'll get one heck of a jolt if you touch them!
