It is a paniculata but the flowers look very new and maybe not fully developed yet. Maybe this will help:

the flowers are not fully developed yet so hard to say. Give it more time to see what happens with the flower, and if any color change takes place.

Quickfire?

I would compare to panicled hydrangeas Quickfire (most likely IMO), White Diamond, and perhaps Little Quickfire.

Thank you everyone for your helping ID’ing. It does look like Quick Fire or a variant, but has remained (as in my pix) for weeks, and no pink tinge at all. The plant is in shade pretty much all day, so perhaps this is how it would perform under those conditions?

the color change takes place later, especially as the nighttime temps start to drop. Its cool nights, which really bring out the color.

Anything similar that doesn’t develop (much) pink? And any experiences growing Quickfire/variants &/or other paniculatas in shade? I thought they needed more sun than this plant is getting...

They can be planted in full sun where the sun is weak (think northern states) but as you look south to places with hot summers then some afternoon respite helps the leaves. Down here, I have planted some in dappled and "bright" full shade.

In bright shade, the blooms coloring is affected in some years.

QF and Little QF do best here as they begin blooming early (before the 100-degree temps arrive). The other paniculatas go from white to brown directly due to the intense summer heat.

Have you researched Limelight and Little Lime?

Sorry - should have said in my first post — this plant is in Brooklyn (NYC) NY.

Here, White Diamonds stays white into September, and then only develops a pink tint. That said, I love the rich rose color that Quickfire develops. Limelight doesn’t develop as much pink as others, though it may turn light pink or tan towards season’s end.

Quickfire gets more of a bronze color opposed to pink. If you don’t want pink go with little lime, or limelight if you have a lot of space. 8ft x 8 ft plus.

My Quickfire turns the same rich pink pictured by Hyed above.

Sounds like y'alls weather and soil minerals may be producing slight color variations.

Guyground, do you have an old picture showing the bronze color that you get from QF? Is the bronze color in the blooms (I assume yes) or the leaves?
