Aida, the adult root aphid has a stubby, short butt while the fungus gnat is long and tapered. Also, the wings of a fungus gnat adult lay flat at rest, like a house fly to which they are related. The root aphid's wings resemble a tent at rest.

You're second picture is unidentifiable because of the angle, though I can promise you that it is not a cockroach.
