Aren't you getting fancy with videos! It was a great way to show lots of your clumps at peak. I would have loved some sweeping shots of the whole garden. The Indian Giver clump was fabulous! Thanks for the video tour!

Nice video Mantis. A different way to showcase your garden.

I enjoyed the videos Mantis. It is nice to see that I am not the only one jamming plants in spaces. I was wandering the garden this evening live heading and realized I have a lot of plants that need to be divided. I also need to get rid of some of them to make room for the ones in pots and my seedlings. This year, they all seemed to have increased exponentially and all are large. My neighbors cut down their 15 foot high row of arborvitea (sp) and one of my gardens has certainly enjoyed getting more sun.

You need to put a warning label before opening, hazardous to pocketbook. I saw so many that I have seen before, but now I feel I must have.

I enjoyed the tour of your beautiful daylilies, although I tend toward motion sickness and felt like I should have taken a Dramamine before....haha. Too much moving from plant to plant for my eyes. (I am no fun on planes, boats or roller coasters and the grandkids ask my husband to go instead). But your blooms are just spectacular and that is a wonderful way to show the plants in 'real life'. Just really marvelous beauty!

Well, if I were to do the video again, I would linger longer on each plant and plan ahead what cultivars I am going to display. Still, I think one sometimes gets a better idea of a bloom from a video than from a picture. Sun can distort the color though. Yes, Celeste, this video is more dizzying than some I have seen, but moving from plant to plant there will always be some blur.

I would have to spend hours every day during peak just deadheading. I do deadhead at the estate, however. The plants there are also spaced more for display.

I really enjoyed the video, colors on reds looked so vivid. I have a hard time taling photos especially on light colored daylilies or loud colors like Sailor Sky or South Seas

I didn't mean to sound critical of your video....it is great. Not many people have my sensitivity to motion, so it's my personal problem. I love seeing your daylilies! My goodness, you sure have spectacular daylilies. I can see why you would want to make videos! And deadheading all those would be impossible. Thanks for showing us around!

On light-colored daylilies, one usually has to have an overcast sky. One can reduce the exposure later, but if there is too much sun, the picture may just be washed out.

Thanks for taking the videos and for sharing, I enjoyed these! I was thinking of trying to do one this year - I saw one that Julie Covington did a couple of weeks ago and thought it was really fun to see and much more enjoyable than just pictures. It was neat to hear your voice, too! :) Did you use your phone? I'm sure I would have technical difficulties and the quality would not be good, but I still might give it a shot after blooms pick up here.

Where was Julie Covington's posted? I used my camera, then uploaded to Youtube. Yes, much more realistic than just pictures. Of course, Julie's garden is spacious. Choose an overcast day for best pics.

I enjoyed this as well. I would never do it as I don’t know how I would edit out weeds and grass in my beds, the occasional sapling sprouting up in the middle of clumps, etc.!!! You do have amazing clumps! A nice way to view the daylilies “in person”!

Thank you Mantis for taking us around your garden. I do like the video tours. It's got to be hard to get just the right time of day to show your daylilies. Too much sun and the colors glare out, too late in the day and the colors may be changed (faded)........You may have seen these in your travels across the internet, but a few years back there was a series of videos done by "John Smith" on you-tube showing his daylilies. The background noise and his walking around was distracting, but the pace was pretty good showing the individual blooms. This is one of his shorter ones on late daylilies. I hope you enjoy it and share more of your garden with us...............Maryl
