GE's current extended service company is Assurant.

As to the quality of the warranty service, it really depends on the local company they have contracted with. In many cases you are looking at third-party repair service, not GE employees (especially when using Assurant).

Not sure I would pay the $ for an oven - in our experience GE's are pretty robust. But the first thing we did was pay for one on our fridge - our experience with GE over the last 15 years and especially recently is that their fridges are sub-par, reliability-wise.

I’ve been researching Assurant and not found much. I’m very interested in how quickly they address any issues and whether they hang in there to resolve them. Our oven is from GE’s Cafe series and it has very good reviews..as do a number of GE ovens...at least compared to GE fridges. .
