Do you mean 30" wide (side to side)? Most sinks are nowhere close to 30" deep (from top to bottom). This article offers some guidlines.

I find the sweet spot for a kitchen sink depth is 9". It's deep enough to hide things but not too deep to make it hard to use. Personal preference and probably depends on the size of the person using the sink.

What did you decide? I am debating between Kraus Dex 9" and Hahn 10". Both are 31" installed (33).

I think 7-8" max unless you enjoy back aches.

@Joseph Corlett, LLC what sink is that? We don't really have garbage disposals here in Canada (or not in my home). We are looking at a 10" install in a 36" base (31 wide undermount from 33 total).

It's a 33" x 22" Elkay quartz undermounted.

While a sink with a 10 inch depth makes it easier to soak pots and pans, deeper sinks can be more uncomfortable for shorter family members to use.
