You need a plumber to reconstruct the shower water lines and controls and install the new fixtures. The shower walls and ceiling will need to be redone. Then you will need a tile installer to retile the shower walls and ceiling.
Rainheads were a fad...they look good but are not very practical unless you wash your hair every day and don’t mind water in your face.
My preference for a shower is a standard adjustable wall head plus a separately-controlled adjustable-height hand-held wand on a vertical bar.

Its a simple question of access... can you access the plumbing from the opposite side of the wall where the on off control is located? What is on the other side of that wall?? If it is a closet or hallway or something like that then you can cut open the wall from that side to rework the plumbing and you will have to find a tiler or plumber who would be confident in drilling some holes through your tile. You will need a diverter valve and the handheld and a mount for the handheld. This will not be a cheap undertaking and it is a bit risky so be sure to hire skilled people.

If you cannot access that plumbing then you cannot add a handheld with out redoing the tile in the shower- at least not that I know of! ... sorry....

@ Debbie I guess I can't add a handheld then. On the other side it's another bathroom shower with tile. I just needed a easier way of cleaning the shower tiles and glass.

Oh no... sorry to hear that... I am really quite surprised whoever sold you all of this stuff didn't tell you to install a handheld. I pretty much insist on it - especially with rain shower heads...

Maybe someone else has a thought. but I really don't see how. There is a lot of plumbing work involved. Is there an attic above? Maybe you can tap into the plumbing from there and put a control/diverter on one of the other walls?

you wouldn't be able to put in a handheld in the traditional sense but maybe you can install a tub filler w/ handheld somehow from the crawlspace/basement?

Thats true - what is below this bathroom and behind the other walls of the shower?? Maybe you can just put in a completely separate on/of and handheld sourcing the plumbing from somewhere else? You really need to get a plumber in there to have a look.

This a town house so plumbing is on the outer wall.so can't go out of it.and attic is far from it. But thank you everyone for all your suggestions.
