How about a tall plant? Looks like sunlight comes in near there.

I would stagger photos down the wall or unevenly placed shadow boxes. As searcy suggested - a plant could go underneath those.

How about this tulip chair from westelm.com? I love the idea of incorporating some of the blue you have in the pillow on the couch and adding some pattern to your room. Add a small side table, like this also from westelm.com.

Everything is very neutral except for some blue so you could pick a yellow or orange or even lime green.

I would suggest a warm color - like peach or terra cotta. You can always accent pillow the couch to tie it all together.

Have you considered a dash of"citron" as seen in the throw on the sofa in the inspiration pic ( oops i see Dar mentioned the lime green color)

Maybe something like this? I was experimenting last year and just not sure it was the right color or concept for the space. I was practicing to see if I could replicate a piece I saw in a store that was on a much larger scale more proportionate to the space. Question: would it be better to put a solid color accent chair there and a print lumbar pillow? Or find a print fabric I like and a chair with the right dimensions and go for more color?

I like the idea of a nice chair, and maybe a painting above it to make a nice complete look. There is an iPad app that let's you visualize art hanging on your own wall. You can compare all original artworks and find ones that you like. The app generates art based on your own space..you can find it at arttwo50.com. Could really complete the room!
