Yeah Ken, we’ve had a late cold spring. I think the hosta in that bed are not completely unfurled.

Nice Beach Boy north53. How old is it? I read somewhere that the ink bleed symptom of HVX shows up as the opposite colour of the leaf. So, on a light leaf the " ink bleed" would be more apt to be green. (Don't know if that's true or not).

Looks like a nice healthy leaf to me. It’s a beautiful hosta! I love variegated leaf hostas. Will be interested to see what the HF pros think. I am a peon...... :-)

I’ve had it since 2015, but I think it was just one small eye at the time.

I’ve taken another picture, but it doesn’t look much different to me. Also for Ken, I got down on my knees to plant level. Does the depth look okay?

Nothing in the photo looks like HVX, but what a fabulous specimen of Beach Boy! Mine is three years old and still one eye. Can't wait for it to look like yours.

north53, I hope my response above didn't lead you to worry, even for a moment, about hvx on your gorgeous Beach Boy. In truth, I don't think I was even looking at the right area on the leaf!

The others did a great job in reassuring you...definately no sign of disease. Got any more nice hosta pics to share?

No problem mae. I’ve had 2 instances of HVX in the past so now I’m paranoid. Beach Boy came from a reputable grower though and the others did not.

Love the Beach Boy. It is like a smaller version of Dream Queen which is one of my favorites.
