A picture from a little further back, and a sketch with dimensions would help. From what I can see, round or ovaled rectangle would be nice.

How many will you be seating? A 48” round pedestal table might work if you only need to seat 4.

I like the table you have but feel it would fit better if you move it to a horizontal like the back wall cabs. With the table that way you get a much nicer view of the kitchen. If you don't use all the chairs, you could remove the two on the left side in the photo and put them elsewhere until needed. That would make for a very pleasant look, I'd put a shiny copper bowl in the center.

Adjoining room - total disaster. We haven’t even started here. Imagine built ins, new gray sectional, accent chairs and walnut floors.

Neighboring rooms...pretty much finished except the floors )and hemming the curtains).

Round table. There are way too many 90 degree corners in the kitchen

I like the first one - inviting and comfortable. Arms are always good. The metal chair would not be comfortable to sit in for any length of time.

I have an oval table in my kitchen, which is set up similar to yours. At the time we bought it (when my kids were infants) we wanted the rounded edges because we were afraid of them running into it when they were tiny. I didn't realize that it broke up all the lines in my kitchen. I do think it's nice as a change of pace.

I would turn your table the other way before I got a new table. You might like it enough to keep it that way. I cannot do that in my kitchen because of the patio door, but my neighbor has her table perpendicular to the island and I like it better than parallel.

What about this one - I have a white/gray rug.

I would do the table OR the chairs, but not both. That's a lot of metal legs going on for my eyes.

I would definitely do a round table and set it more in that big window. I would also get new window treatments

Apolich - you don’t like my stained, ripped and taped up ikea shades??? It’s such an awkward space and the sun beats into the house in the afternoon. Any ideas? I’m not a fan of vertical blinds.

I’m certainly no expert..just seems like a beautiful window to totally cover up. Also moving the table into that window gets it further from the garage entrance.

I have hybrid plantation shutters in my bay window. Easy to clean and lets in light. Also up down and bottom up shades could be good

I LOVE plantation shutters but it wouldn’t work with the sliding door. Good idea with the honeycomb shades!
