would black be too overwhelming in such a small space?

Main thing with dark wall is ability to add more lighting. Lots of lighting. Desk task light. Plug in wall light for bed area. Overhead lighting. Possible floor lamp. Might consider dark blue instead of black. SW Naval comes to mind. SW Cyberspace is great too.

thank you ! I'll look into those colors

I was thinking of these on either side of the window. would these work with the naval color?

any ideas for this wall (paint or decor?

I was going to say Navy as well. He obviously is into biking, I would leave as is.

    first coat done today!

Before I painted anybody's bedroom, I would find out what they liked and what they wanted. And if it wasn't what I liked, I would plan to redo it the way I wanted after the person went away to college. It's just paint.

Looking good. Second coat will be great. You can get gold plug in wall sconces too that would be great. New rug would be nice. I would consider painting the blue (which color did you pick?) on the short wall too.

thanks Flo! I did naval in the end. are you talking about the wall with the closet?

Here is one more for your plug in sconces. You need one for the work table too. I have another one but have to hunt it up.

Sylvia you made a good point there. but actually this is being a surprise for him when he gets home from summer camp

Wall looks great. I prefer the other bedding you had? Or is it the same. The other had more blue in it. Now it looks more brown? I would hang the bicylcle on the blue wall at 63" from floor to center of art. Then I would pull the cord for the AC unit over to side of window trim and secure there with the little stick on clips to wire manage that and run in down the side of the trim molding. Then I would hang the gallery you have laying on the bed on each side of the window in interesting arrangement. No drapery works because of AC Keep bringing the eye down and away from that. Get a blue and yellow rug for the floor. Recover the seat of that little stool with blue fabric to match wall. Keep repeating the blue and yellow as much as you can. That will unify the look. Nice job painting. I love good lighting, so I would also replace the ceiling fixture with something more interesting., that would also draw the eye away from AC.

Cute fixture. I wonder if you could get a bookcase to set on top of desk? Might work better than those shelves.

I keep trying different configurations.. but still not loving it... any ideas out there?

It’s looking nice and i like the desk beside the bed. Makes desk do double duty which is important in small space. Can you get a sliding under bed storage unit to put seldom used books but occasionally needed ones. Or you might get a funky book unit. I think I have one saved. Brb

if I leave it this way where can i add more lights? I removed the lamp in the corner it was too distracting

It looks good. Would you be able to put it on wall opposite bed? Of course, measure and make sure it fits including size of books you need to put on them.

I'm afraid it will be too narrow to get to the window. but I will measure and let u know thx

Can u turn the desk? Love the wood bookcase.

the closet is there.. sorry about the mess, he just got back from summer camp:)
