Needing help with exterior update
We recently purchased this 1970s ranch style home, and the brown is just not my style! I'm not a fan of the brick color either, but we want to start with painting the trim, posts, and shutters. We plan to add some landscaping and flower beds, but can't seem to find the right house colors. Any ideas? Thank you in advance for any suggestions!

Agree about the brown, one of my least favorite trim colors but it can work on the right house.
From my angle, the brick is kind of a wishy-washy brown color. I don’t think you need to stain or paint it. But if you paired it with a charcoal gray, or a medium gray....
New house numbers in bold black.
New door either modern or MCM style.
And yes, landscaping would do wonders.

This is a gorgeous palette for yellow brick homes. Turquoise door would work as well. Go to a smaller garden center and work with a landscape designer to create deep front beds to frame your house and extend it forward. With the right combination of perennials, shrubs, some yellow hardscaping, you could keep your existing color and roof and spend your budget on front landscaping.
