garage addition needs new siding. Needs to compliment old red siding.

We are adding a garage and apt. to our vacation home. Basically the whole garage is new and connects to the deck (also will be new) and screened in porch, (also new) The house is a red vinyl siding that is still in decent shape. From the illustration the red would be visible on the slant of the house between the screened in porch and garage. What would be the best complimentary vinyl siding color I could choose? The is a second home and we are not able to do expensive options like stone or brick. My first instinct was grey which is of course over done. Or... perhaps a wood grain look my choices are like a dark walnut or more of a gold cedar. I realize without seeing the actual color this is a difficult question but its a dull faded barn red.

Well, you could paint the old red vinyl siding to match the new color.

Painting is an easy solution but I think would defeat the purpose of easy care of vinyl. I’m kindd of thinking cream and accent with dark grey maybe eventually change house color to grey idk....

How about cream with green accent to play off the roof? What color will be the addition’s roof be?

zzest, If you ever still peruse this site, I am curious what you decided to do.

We have a similar situation where we are totally rehabbing our screened porch to a 3 season room. The current red siding matches the house, but the contractor does not think it can be saved. New red vinyl not an exact match and a premium color to boot.

We have a cream garage door, fascia and soffits. I will probably paint the whole house a different color anyway somewhere down the road, but not at this point.
