It looks a bit too small for that space. It may be better in another location where it has some "breathing room" on both sides.

More pictures for a fuller picture. As you can see, there is not another (bigger) wall to put the server on, unless under the half wall/« bar » . It would fit under that, but I don’t think it would look good. I am not wedded to this server per se, but it holds the China and provides extra serving space for big dinners. Thanks in advance for any thoughts on this!

Have you tried angling it in the corner where the half wall is?

Actually, I would see if you could find something to build another corner cabinet in that space and do away with the buffet. You could have doors and shelves instead of drawers to hold your china.

Hmm, those are good thoughts. The space behind the half wall is a bit wasted. Baseboard heat there, unfortunately, but something to think about, thanks!

If the table isn’t used daily, I think you could take out a leaf to give you more room. I would definitely try the buffet under the half wall. Patterned drapes (hung higher) and prints on each side would brighten up the space. If you leave it where it is, you might want to paint it white to go with the build in or paint both in a matching color.
