Thank you Sara , if I cut it back now , will it bloom when it needs to ? Is that early spring?

First, I know you need room for roses in the front, so if that front yard tree is still small-ish, you could dig it up and move it to the back and plant it right next to the good one. A lot of Californians plant 2 or 3 similar fruit trees in the same hole for space, it reduces the crop size somewhat but who needs 300 peaches in a week when 200 will do? :) And since the second one is only for pollen, you can hard prune it to keep it small.

Thank you !! Yes Carla I need the room for roses . And after seeing the mess that my pear tree and plums are making I decided I’ll be trimming back this tree and not caring what happens to the avocados. I know it sounds mean but I’m not going to coddle a poorly placed plant ! It sparks the opposite of joy ! Haha !!!

I find that in CA you can buy fabulous organic produce almost everywhere...

Most avocado orchards to day are opting to go without a pollinating variety. In my opinion, the second tree/pollinator is not even needed. Might lose 10-30% avo production. 11% is the average increase with a pollinator.
