Paint it or leave it.....?

Thinking of painting a the wall in the open area of our hallway that is at the base of stairs up to the office. Would love to bring some color to the hallway and open family room area (The wall can be seen from our family room an kitchen.) I plan on putting a 60” cabinet with art/mirror/lamp above it and thought some color might make the accessories/cabinet there pop? Thoughts?
