I think it looks quite nice as it is! What don't you like about it?

You start the day in your kitchen, make it your happy place and go with a color that will make you happy.

If it matches your dishes, that will be great, too.

First, not as good, answer:

As Beth said, you mostly have a blank canvas as far as color palette. There's tiny bit of yellow/gold/tan in the floor tile, so you could pick up one or more of those colors. It looks like it's a little closed-in and has no outside window; so, if it were my kitchen, I might go for green colors and bring in lots of plants to suggest fresh air and nature.

Second, better, answer:

What's your favorite color? :)

A shade of blue/green would be nice with your current finishes. I would suggest painting the bulkhead the same white as the cabinets.

the terra cotta is nice . I'm not sure Id paint. unless the paint is in bad shape. the kitchen is small...sometimes a bold color enlivens the space. Even a light color wont change the dynamic [small working kitchen] that much. I'd evaluate the light fixtures...seems to be some glare......I'd remove the picture and relocate at least temporarily, the trash can. then I'd likely get a simpler hardware style for the cabinets, a classy higher arc faucet, and start the browsing for new fridge. sometimes a new floor runner, say modern colorful stripes, to replace the classical pattern will give a completely new feel. Try a big white modern clock or the like instead of the picture. Of course..paint if you want.
