New openers and repeats

Yesterday we got a quick downpour in the morning but the late afternoon gave us thunderstorms with plenty of rain.. A nice cool down last night and this morning mid 60's. I did a quick tour of the garden this morning to see what decided to open. More rain is suppose to come this afternoon but I don't count on it.

TRULY ANGELIC - opened yesterday but got a pic this morning. .Another one that the clump is really too big.

CARNIVAL IN BRAZIL- moving it to a new spot once it finishes. This is from this morning but it started blooming yesterday.

ITZA PINK TEDDY - It has very small blooms this year. Not many scapes or buds this season.

WESTBOURNE VALENTINE'S DAY - last season for it here.

Some repeats this morning.

SELF DETERMINATION - what a wonderful bloomer.

I had to do two pics just to get all the bloomsin as the clump is massive.

Dare I say this one needs dividing? Yup.

SPRING MYSTIQUE - this one has really done well this season. This pic was from a few days ago.

ISLE OF PATMOS - ready for its photo this morning. Overcast skies makes it easier to see the great watermark on this one.

These are all so pretty!! I liked my Isle of Patmos but yours has a dar color that I like better. And Tahiti Sweetie keeps that luscious color! You seem to have so many you speak of needing to divide! What great soil you must have. I am curious-what do you do with yours that you say are leaving or will no longer be in your garden? I have many I would like to “leave” but I do not have neighbors or friends who want them, few family members who want them, and have run out of places to donate them! I hate to compost them. So just curious about how others solve this dilemma!!

Tahiti Sweetie is such an great color! Also Isle of Patmos is quite nice.

I think I picked those before.

It’s hard to pick a favorite, they are all wonderful. . I had to go back and look a few more times, Self Determination wins for me today. Why is your Westbourne leaving? Julia just wondering, what zone are you in?

Kate: I compost those that I cannot give away for postage.I like you feel bad to compost but it is better than taking up space I could use for another plant. Maybe we should start a post titled " Plants For Postage" so if anyone is looking.

Sherry: Westbourne Valentine's Day will leave as I don't have a spot to move it to. It is in one of the beds that is being dismantled. I am zone 6a.

The deeper color on Spring Mystique in the overcast skies makes it truly beautiful. Isle of Patmois is another beauty. Self Determination does very well for you. The colors washed out in my heat, but it obviously enjoys your climate...........Maryl

Beautiful clumps and flowers! Love all the watermarks, especially Self Determination and Isle of Patmos. It's cooler here so my Isle of Patmos got a bit darker but still not purple at all ))

Oh I have so many that need dividing, doubt I will get to all of them this fall..

Kate, I have the same dillemma.. I will have to start composting ((

Julia, I have, in the past, put yard sale type items on a flat trailer, parked it at the end of the driveway, and put a large “free” sign on it. It is always empty at the end of the day! I wonder how that would work with lily clumps!! At least maybe only people who want them would pick them up!

They are beautiful, Julia. Isle is a lovely clump, The color of Tahiti Sweetie always gets me, and Self Determination is a lovely clump. the winner for me is Spring Mystique. Just beautiful in both photos. And, Kate and Julia, I did the plants for postage and more takers than plants. It is a lot of work (as you probably already know) and gave me real feeling for professional growers.

All this talk of composting daylilies , makes me squirm. I live in the wrong place for sure ! I would be there in a heartbeat . Hope you find homes for them and dont have to resort to hemicide. Get that ? ha ha It just came out as I was typing .

Tahiti Sweetie does it for me. I just checked the DL auction - darn - it is pretty pricy.
