kitchen sink recomendation

Hello, we just remodeled our kitchen and ordered today countertops with the 16 gauge stainless sink but I am wondering if I should buy one from them or I should buy Kraus. The one they sell it doesn't come with the stariner and the grid but that's not what bothers me most... I am just wondering if Kraus will be better choice to go... is it better quality of stainless and stuff?

Does their sink have a brand? I would definitely not buy a sink without knowing the brand. Also what about depth and interior corner radius. Are these sinks the same in these aspects?

Fabricators buy a pallet load of Chinese sinks to give away as sales incentives. Kraus makes excellent sinks and the additional accessories are a great value. Have them strap, not clip, your sink please.

Thank you for your opinions. The sink they have is no brand but she said they have company who makes them somewhere in Boston and they get in bulks. And the lady was saying evryone is taking those sinks, she said no complains but you have to be careful to not scratch....

That single bowl sink looks fine; I like that it has an offset drain (not in the center) which is an advantage, and it also appears to come with a grid, or at least offer one that fits the sink. What I want you to check is: what is the width of your sink base cabinet - that is the cabinet the sink will be installed in. Also find out how much space you will have from the back of the sink to the wall behind it. Some faucets need more of that space (called “faucet clearance”) than others. What faucet are you getting?

The single bowl sink looks OK. You are missing out on some of the nicer features that more expensive sinks have. But if money is an issue, then you probably won't make a huge mistake picking this sink. I wouldn't pick the double-bowl sink though; it looks a lot less functional.

For more money, you can get thicker material and better sound dampening, so it won't be so noisy when you run water into it. You can get a ledge that allows you to add accessories (e.g. cutting board, colander, drain board, ...). This can vastly improve the usability of your sink. You can have the drain moved both off-center and towards the back. This makes it less likely you block the drain with the items that you are washing. And you can get a sink that has a more ergonomic depth.

But all those things cost more. So, it's up to you to decide if you want to pay for that. Having said that, Kraus is generally considered a decent brand, and they do build good ledge sinks at a reasonable price; so, I'd still consider that brand. Or you can splurge and buy an all-custom sink from www.rachiele.com. Worth every penny -- but does take a lot of those pennies.

Also, I don't see whether you are buying an undermount or a topmount. They both have their strengths and weaknesses. I can't make a hard recommendation. But I suggest you inform yourself first, before just going with whatever your contractor picks for you.

"Are you certain it's the correct size for your cabinet - what is the width of your sink cabinet, and what is the width of the sink the contractor is offering you?"

You can't go by the sink manufacturer's cabinet recommendations. A 33" sink will fit in a 33" cabinet, I don't care what the manufacturer says. And disregard the sink clips the sink manufacturer provides too. They are difficult to install, impossible to install along a thin front top rail where they're most needed, and they leak. Strap your sink in place please.
