This is one of BHs patterns I haven't tried yet. If I get the pieces cut, it looks like I can use it as a leader/ender when making the book bags I'm working on. :-)

Beautiful block!

I found some quiet time and went downstairs and made a block. Started to take a picture and realized one unit is backwards. There is that ripping you mentioned Lois!

Theresa, at least you had only one unit backwards. I had all four corner units messed up on my first block. I can't wait to see what yours looks like.

Very pretty, Theresa. I love to see how different the block looks when you use different colors and values for the various units. Sometimes I can hardly tell it's the same block.

Yes, you have to look close at your blocks, Lois. and your block Theresa to make sure they are the same block. All are beautiful! Sadly I ran out of time this weekend to make mine. Maybe this weekend!!

I have one made but have lost an edge point so am going to see what I can do about it. :-) Theresa, I like how you used your fabric in this pattern. Lois, I made mine more like yours.......but different. LOL

They look so different! I look forward to making one soon.

And a second, a bit bolder in colour. I struggle with darker colours. But when done, I really like them. The dark is a very deep blue with gold flecks. And I auditioned about four different fabrics for the centre but none turned me on.

Pretty blocks, ladies! Lois, yours are very similar to the colors I am using in the BOM.

I haven't had time to make the July block yet. Maybe by the end of the month I can get July and August blocks done.

Thank you, ladies. I had to figure out how much floral to use and thought less was more for this block. I wanted more of the green since it matched the green in the floral so well, but that was about all I had left and the same with the dark purple, so the bits and pieces are getting used up. I didn't use the same process and have more seams than the pattern, but it's ok with me. :-)

I've been working on these blocks off and on. I need 20 of them. I have all the corner green and neutral "9 patches" done. Now, i'm working on the purple sections. Every once in a while I get bored chain piecing, so I assemble another block. I have five finished so far. There will be tan sashing to match the central star points and green cornerstones. I think i'm going to love the results.

Finally finished a second block!

How many do you have now, Char. I think I have about 15 and need 35. In January I my goal was to have the quilt done by Christmas, now I'm thinking I didn't specify which Christmas! Finally caught up though.
