I second leaving the cabinets as is. If you try to change the hardware it would have to be something w/ a back plate which is not a modern look. But the wood behind the back plates has likely not aged.

Not worth the investment in painting it, just offer a $1K improvement credit.

The above advice sounds good. I do have a question...jut curious....what it the thin grey strip under the cabinets where the hang up bar is?

I’m sure you’d find the door handles easier to reach if they were closer to the bottom of the door.

Don't change the door handles, just make space very, very, very clesn.

don't move the hardware you would then have holes in the cabinets from the old hardware that need filled. Just leave it as is.

RM ... the gray strip is plastic wire management guide that contains low voltage wiring. I’ll paint it out to match the walls and it will disappear.

Sativa, you are correct. The base plates on the cabinet pulls has resulted in different color of wood.

The rest of the house is Mid Century Modern. The bones have been preserved along with some great original cedar and stone elements. The kitchen and bathrooms are recently renovated. These pics might convey a sense of the main space
