Yes - I would see what your neighbors have done, and/or your local pool company should be able to help. Covering the pool will likely be part of the pool designer’s plan.

I suggest a glass type of barrier between the pool and the sea, and if you don’t want a cover, a pool person visiting before and after every guest.

Well, I’m on the beach in NE. they are building a home right on the beach now and the pool is going on the roof! Of course the home is in the many millions of dollars and in that case I suppose you can put the pool anywhere you want;)! Considering the harsh weather we get here I think I’ll just stick with the ocean!

Okay, you're the first to build in the area. Then go to the next town and the next, and the next. Do real shoe-leather research. Use Google Maps' aerial view and see what people do and where they are, then go stroll the beaches in front of the houses you want to see. My guess is plants to act as a wind break.

Covers In Play, or an automatic/retractable would seem to be the only reliable/practical options. Or skip it.

Blowing sand isn't beach lounging or poolside friendly to my mind unless IN the water. I'd want shelter from it, or I'd be toughing it out in the ocean. I'd also want a salt water pool, much kinder to skin and loaaded with good old "Mortons" and a filter running 24/7. Fabulous.

At 1000 bucks a night, I expect a housekeeper, and pool boy to take care of ANY maintenance issue, or jack it to 1500 per nite if need be. Unless YOU want the calls..

Do you have your pool permit yet? Here on Long Island sandy areas mean high water tables, in which case you cannot put in a pool.
