Reply from Quilt store about Project Linus donation

I received this email reply yesterday:

Dear Barbara,

I am sorry that your donation did not make it to your intended charity, Project Linus, and equally sorry about the response you received from one of the shop employees when you asked about the donation. I spoke with Maria, the chapter coordinator for Project Linus, to determine what we could do to compensate for the misdirection of your contribution. We offered both fabric and shop sewing time (we dedicate time each month during which shop employees work on sewing projects for charity. Maria opted to have us sew for Project Linus. Additionally she asked to have access to the use of our longarm machine, and we have arranged that as well.

As a result of the unfortunate incident with your donation, we have established a shop policy of not accepting any donations for charity unless the intended charity is clearly identified on the related bag or box. [Shop owners name], and I will be sure that all employees are aware of the donation policy.

We very much appreciate your business and value your connection with [Store name]. Please give me a call if you have any additional concerns or suggestions related to this incident.

Sincerely,
Penelope

I guess a letter sometimes makes a difference.
