Ta Da! Bathroom is updated!

We updated our master bath and love the results. We replaced tile floors with hardwoods and updated the cabinet and fixtures. New tub, shower and paint too. Glad it’s finished!

It's lovely. You're brave to put hardwood in those areas!

Nice but who thought a chandelier above a tub was wise (derp)

I love this. I am literally currently living in your “before” bathroom. Same exact floors! So inspiring.

A chandelier above a tub is against code. You can slip, grab it, and fry yourself. You might want to ream out the “electrician” that did that. I‘m surprised it passed inspection at all. He should have flunked that, right after the flood test.

That bathroom looks gorgeous! I don't know anything about the chandelier and all that but I do love the vanity lights you selected and how you basically kept the floor plan-and just updated everything!!!

Beautiful! I love your floors, can you tell me what you used? I am installing hardwood and that is exactly the look I want. Thanks!

You can have a fixture above your tub and long as it is on a GFI breaker.

No actually according to code you cannot unless as GD showed the bottom of the fixture is a minimum of 8' above the top rim of the tub. GFI breaker or not, it's against code!

    To the OP: Beautiful redo

Well then put it on a GFI breaker so that you cannot be electrocuted.

I like the shower. I'm debating taking out the tub in my small master bathroom and exchanging it for a walk-in shower. It would be setup similarly.

@HU-161159613 Thanks so much! We used heart pine with three coats of Original Waterlox. I am adding a pic of the bedroom so you can get a better idea. We are happy with the results.

That's really pretty. I'm going for a similar look. Did you use the countertop material around the tub or is that tile? One more question... how did you frame out the mirror?

@bfox254 Thanks so much. We used the same countertop quartz around the tub. They were able to do one cut for the tub so it didn't have to be pieced. For the mirror, they cut a groove in the wood, framed, and painted white.

I love your floors, the turned posts on your beautiful bed, and your rocking chair. Such a pretty room.

Looks beautiful! I would have not been brave enough to use real wood flooring but if you know you will be careful and never rent it out, it should be fine. Love the light fixtures.
