How about one or two shades darker on the same chit as the base cabinets. That’s about as far as I’d go. Dorian or Dovetail. I can’t see your backsplash well. Is that the Dovetail color?

ETA: This island is listed as the next darkest to your base color “Dorian “ but I think it’s mislabeled and is the ”Dovetail”. I actually think it would be pretty but I’d use the same top as the rest. However, wood might be nice as well.

This last photo says the island is in the Dovetail.

I think 3 is a step too far. Personally, I'd prefer all the perimeters in white and the island in black. Otherwise, the island should match either the uppers or lowers.

Ilikefriday, in hindsight, I wish I went a shade or two darker on the bottom cabinet for that very reason. Not enough contrast for my liking but won’t I’ll deal with it for now.

An alternative to bring in another element yet still be cohesive could be a wood island top.

I would not introduce a 3rd cabinet color.

Lil S, I actually plan on going with a wood top and figured that is enough, instead of introducing a third cabinet color.

Did you paint the cabinets yourself or have them professionally done. I ask because if you could paint the tall cabinet in the mindful gray I think it would work better. Right now it's the lightest element so it shows up too much.

I would also paint the island mindful gray. Don't add to many elements.

Me too Tiggsy, but colors on the same chit. I think a bit of an anchor would be a plus.
