Mary rose has done well after I moved it to a more open area in full sun. The heat haand effected the blooming at all. I also moved a sucker from it to a pot and that has been doing well.

It would be a shame to prune Setzer Noisette; it's obviously meant to be big and beautiful.

Ingrid. I think so, too. But I suspect that, by now, pretty much everyone here has figured out that we LIKE roses to grow to "barn-size", and that we eschew most real pruning. And I'd hate something like this to come as a shock.

In fact, "Setzer Noisette" sat there, modestly small, for its first 3 or so years. Just biding its time, I suppose. It definitely "crept" before it "leaped."

I plan to train setzer on an arch, for now I’ve been able to keep it growing as a 4’ shrub with minor pruning. roseville noisette is another rose that has done well this season.

Uhhhh . . . "Roseville Noisette " IS a dwarf Noisette. In the ground, it IS about 4 f-ft. shrub. We grow it in a large container, so it is even smaller.

OTOH, this is "Setzer Noisette" on a conventional arbor after a fairly hard winter pruning:
