Most apricots (and peaches, nectarines and sour cherries) are self fertile and require no additional pollination for good fruit production. But weather during the bloom time can play a role and planting a second, different variety of any self fertile fruit will generally tend to increase fruit yields.

^^ Good to know. They had some pretty nice looking trees left, I might pick up another one. Problem is I decided to try growing peach and apricot in pots so I can help avoid spring cold/frost damage (huge barn to store them in over winter), and there's only so much room outside where I an keep the pots during the growing season with enough sun and within eyesight (read: if I don't see them I will forget to water them...). It's an experiment, if they don't do well I can always plant them where I originally intended to out by the other fruit bushes/trees.
