Ugh. It's awful when things fall out of commerce. I did notice, when looking up info on Honorine de Brabant, that Honorine is supposed to be a sport of Commandant Beaurepaire.

I know growing the sport is not quite the same as growing the parent, but Honorine is still available. In photos they do seem quite similar. You could always hope for a reversion, too.

Though, looking back and forth between their entries at HMF, how does the sport of a Hybrid Perpetual become a Bourbon?

unfortunately neither carries it. the only one that had it listed through HMF was Rogue Valley. When I contacted them, they said they no longer carry this rose. :(

That's terrible. I would contact some of the people growing it in the US to see if they'd share a cutting. Check under gardens and photos. One of them might share or even root one for you if they still have it. Let us know, but hopefully someone here can help you. I might also contact Peter Schneider to see if he either grows it or know someone who does. If he does, he can custom propagate. It's worth a try. Do not rely on this list.... he has 1K+ roses.

One never knows. I've suggested him before thinking 'He'll never have that!' and then he came through! I know that he rescued many roses from the amazing and now defunct Garden of Roses of Legend and Romance formerly in Wooster, OH and run by OU. I can't even begin to catalogue the rarities they grew, so if he has even a fraction, I'm hopeful. He also has many 'secret' resources, so have hope. It is interesting how so many people in Europe seem to grow it, but it's out of favor here.

Great news! He grows it and is going to custom propagate it for me. It will be ready next fall! So excited!!! Hmmm...I'll need to check my wish list for other rare roses that I can't never find. I was very sad to learn that the Garden of Roses of Legend and Romance is no more. Now I feel that whatever historic rose I grow I might literally be holding a piece of history that could be lost if not passed along.

Hi Christopher! I emailed with Scott since I have a current order with them. He told me that they don't carry this rose anymore. In their website is only listed as reference. :(

I'm so glad you can get it! I would ask about others as he generally can ship three roses for one flat fee! Sorry to enable. : ))

Another option is Rogue Valley Roses, who has Belle Doria available (I just spoke to Janet today). I'm really not sure of the difference between Belle Doria and Commandant Beaurepaire but Peter Schneider has different entries for each in his combined rose list, as does HMF. I'd love to find out if his version is the same as RVR's. To me the pictures look a bit different for the two HMF entries.
