Need assistance finding large format lighting

I'm looking to fill the majority of the ceiling in my dining room with a light similar to this. The only problem is, I have no idea how to even search for this type of light. Looking for "large lights" doesn't yield any comparable results. The dining room is 8x10 so certainly something smaller than this. But any help in finding similar styles would be greatly appreciated. This is in the lobby of a hotel in Milwaukee. Thanks!

I think I would need some more info as to why you think this is a good plan . How high are your ceilings for instance that BTW is a very small DR with barely enough space for a table and chairs so maybe keep the light a bit less grandiose in such a small space The one you show of course is in a huge space and for sure custom built and really not applicable in a small space. There are many multiple light light fixtures that might be a better choice.

I would engage a custom lighting designer for a project like this. I don't think you can do it yourself by combining multiple fixtures.

Patricia Colwell Consulting, you mention there are many multiple light fixtures that would suit my needs. Could you point to some? I have not been able to find any.

Don't look for "big light" -- look for multiple bulbs per fixture. There are all kinds of things.

That one that looks like vines could be your best bet, as it would cover a good portion of your ceiling with one fixture, but it depends on how modern your look is. Of course, I spent like 2 minutes searching and just on this site, so you might find something even better. Or you could put up 50 of some small light you like:

How many dollars are you spending?

RL Relocation LLC No official budget though I didn't expect it to be cheap.

acm thank you. I'll refine my search. multiple individual lights is not the look we're going for though I appreciate the option. I'll look for multi-bulb flush ceiling mounts. Ideally we are looking at 20 or so bulbs though. I'll see what I can find though I'm thinking this may need to be custom.

talk to a custom light designer, find out what to expect, also it would take some good engineering to hang it as well.

That viny deal is 38 bulbs and 54", so worth looking at the additional photos at the link!

acm thanks. Unfortunately that isn't the look we're trying to go after. It's too floral looking, we want more industrial/modern. I'll keep looking though it seems custom is the way we'll have to go.

Yes Angpu, I think you should make a trip to a local lighting show room.. not lamps plus but a locally owned. They often have people they work with to help create custom pieces.

I love that look also & briefly investigated something similar for my own dining area. It turned out to be a bit cost prohibitive. Each fixture needed its own electrical box so the cost of the electrical work alone was daunting. Also, consider the PITA that it might be to clean & dust the fixtures. Then, in the future, should you no longer appreciate that look, you now have a slew of electrical boxes in the ceiling that are impossible to camouflage. There might be a way to limit the amount of boxes you need so contacting a professional is the way to go.

IMO you need to be carefulin such a small space to not over power the room. I would suggest you talk to a good lighting expert there is such a thing is too much light

I would research "commercial modern lighting vendors" and focus on "conference and banquet room" lighting. Interior Deluxe has some beautiful options but can get spendy real quick.

You might also want to visit a local interior design firm so they can guide you in this process. You'll need to understand load requirements as well as use their lighting specialists that will be able to make recommendations for you, etc.
