Help pick coffee and side tables

No idea what kind of coffee table and side tables would go best with these?
Couch is on one wall and the chairs with the accent table by the window. I am not liking the metal tables I see lately- but open to ideas (:
Should i get white (ish) shade, or gray or black tables?
Couch is grey and the chairs are navy blue.

    Nothing seems to be in sync…the chairs with silver nail heads look good with the sofa, but not the rug; the sofa looks okay with the rug but not with the pillows; the pillows don’t work with the rug or sofa;

Soooooo, the most expensive of the grouping are the chairs, rug and sofa; pillows and the metal table/lantern aren’t budget breakers.

Ignore the rug lol that’s temporarily placed. You can help me select one please. Definitely looking to put a better rug for sure (:

Do i change the pillows on the chairs? Do they not go well with the sofa?

Phew! Have to find a rug first.

Okay so first find a rug, then the pillows, then the tables? Is that the sequence to best follow?

This is not written in stone. Let’s see what can come together using this rug.

End tables with chrome ‘cause of the nailheads.

Okay, I hate the end tables. I am unable to cut them out…so ignore them.

    These instead:

Gray end tables (with acrylic legs) next to gray sofa…acrylic coffee table; interesting geometric rug in soft colors and your two blue chairs.

I would use a glass topped table for either the coffee table or end table, with a metal base, to lighten up the space. Or look at a marble topped table like the example below. With gray and navy furniture, your black and tan rug isn't working at all. I would start there, and then look at tables.

@calidesign hell with finding the right rug please (:

Preferably... rug should have some touch of colors that match couch and chairs...remove any pillows you have now so they do not influence your rug choice...keep the tones light rather than dark to blend with the floor and furniture better..your rug could be more contemporary with your furniture choices.. if that is a style you really love... a more traditional rug with multiple colors and a smaller pattern will be more timeless.. (and easier to keep clean!)...the drawback of contemporary is that it is only contemporary for a short time... and since quality is important.. a rug is an investment .. you will probably have for a long time

@judyg designs not sure if I like the rug as mucb or the table
    What else-can you recommend?

The rug.. furniture.. tables ...are the”basics”... you can add pillows.. art..accent walls .. things like that with a little more abandon and flare with a strong foundational aesthetic..

You've been given good rug options here, but it's hard to choose a rug for someone else when we don't know what style you like. Go on WayFair and search for rugs with blue, tan, and gray to see what types of things you like. Look for a wool or wool blend.

    Ok I’ve returned (:
Got me a rug and a center table

What is out of sync? What needs to be changed? I haven’t gotten the pillows for the sofa yet
Do i need to add more seating?

I would add a floor lamp on the left of the sofa near the windows, and a wood or metal coffee table with table lamp on the right side. The rug is nice, but everything is very dark and the same tone. I would use lighter colored neutral pillows, and large wall art with simple black frames.
