I don't have these myself, but this company has been mentioned before on this forum as a source for Kitchen rugs. They are "indoor/outdoor" so they will withstand more of the use of a kitchen, and can be washed outside with a hose. Dash & Albert Indoor/Outdoor Rugs

Kohl's has rugs as well, reasonably priced; they have some Turkish and Persian patterns.

I suggest looking on eBay.

rugemporium240 rocks! Rugs come as is and not cleaned by the seller, but so far they all have been completely acceptable to just vaccuum really well. For the prices, I expected them to need pro cleaning. So much fun to bid too :)

I got this 14ft fushia pink runner for $87 shipped along with a few others in the past month. The photos don't do this vibrant ved dyed wool rug justice! I decided to use a different one that just works a bit better in my hallway, but decided to resell it for more locally.
I buy too many rugs, but why not?

Thank you celery girl. Is there a particular app that you use to create those images? It’s really helpful to let me see what colors I like because I thought blues but now I’m not so sure.

I use Photoshop. There is houzz app where you can try rugs and furniture, how it look in your room.

I would use a color for the rug that relates to the living areas adjacent to the kitchen, which will help connect the rooms. You can use almost any color with the grays/browns in your kitchen though. Deep reds would look great.

Try the ruggable ones. I just bought one for the "kids kave" at our vacation rental cabin. They are washable. I think if you want more padding for a softer feeling underfoot, you may be able to add a pad under it.

Here is a wonderful rug shop on Etsy. I know you said you don't want to spend hundreds but these rugs are worth the price. Also, I made an offer on one--about 40 cheaper and it was accepted. So maybe one would get more affordable for you?

Decoenthusiaste....do the Ruggable ones lift up at all on the corners or do they lay completely flat? Having something washable for the kitchen really is ideal. Especially with 3 kids.
