Curcuma advice please!

My only experience has been with Curcuma (common pink hidden ginger) and it spread like crazy. Can you steer me toward sime that don’t and also will be relatively short ( about 3’ or less)? Have lots of shade and sunny areas zone 8b southeast Louisiana. Thanks!
