window treatments and dogs

We have big windows in a new addition facing the back yard which is glaringly bright in the afternoon. We have dogs. Dogs like looking out the window, but go nuts when they see humans or wildlife. We were thinking about cell blinds like Night and Day or Duette (pull up sheer and/or down opaque). I am afraid the dogs will shred them at the sight of a squirrel or a ground hog or the neighbor at their grill. Any suggestions?

Duck canvas, doggy mittens or blindfolds, electric fence or dog wire, kennel, guardrail, trap all critters within 1/8 mile, sedate them, shutters, have them meet all the squirrels and neighbors and see if they become friends.

Very funny... and I am sure I am not the only one who has dogs who go nuts at the sight of a SQUIRREL (!), so I am hoping to hear someone else’s experience and solution.

My dog + UPS man broke the ends off my wood blinds. I glued them back together. I wish I had better suggestions.
