Backsplash and counters the same always look very high end and beautiful to me! I say go for it!

I would get little lighter color of backsplash tile.

Same as counters is a gorgeous look. If it is in the budget go for it. Always impressive for resale and you really get to appreciate the veining as art on a day-to-day basis rather then just when you are chopping veggies!

Continuing your slab up the wall as a backsplash allows you to display its beauty.

Ours had a lot of veining so we kept it to the wall behind the range as a feature and tiled our other wall.

I feel like the quartzite would be a bolder move and tile more traditional/less fancy. Either would look nice. Is there a big difference in cost?

Frosty football- what did you decide to do? We are using cristallo quartzite on our kitchen remodel and have a relatively small backsplash area above the range trying to decide on a herringbone subway time look or continue with the quartzite.

I cook a lot and don't want pressure of wiping spill immediately to avoid staining... I want to enjoy my counters esthetically as well as practically...

I ended up going up the wall with cristallo. It's gorgeous, I wouldn't change it to tiles!

B Leib any pictures to share? How do you feel about it being so shiny? Has anyone leathered cristallo ?what would it do to look...not sure I like the super shiny but I absolutely loved the color of slab.... thoughts?

i am thinking of getting two slabs very similar for counter and backsplash. How do you like yours and can you see the seams?
