    I made the obelisk.

The gold hanger was a foot scarper. Painted up. Statue is Dharma Dhana a young disciple of the Great Buddha. Evidently if you achieve enlightenment you become a Buddha and don't have to bother with the troubles of coming back as a human. !!! She is guarded by 3 guard frogs. The obelisk has a buoy bell out of sight hanging in the center. Not a Buddhist, just memories of trips to Asia.

It is a beautiful area Jon and tho you’re not Buddhist you clearly respect the people are. I am not a Buddhist either, but I believe in the power of chanting and meditation. Thanks for sharing!!

djacobz, Buddhism is a peaceful religion, Hindu as well. I have been in Turkey and Malaysia where Muslims are friendly (for the most part. Indonesia being very poor, not always so friendly. Having this reminds of beautiful places and nice people.

nicholsworth, Japanese gardens are great too, but a water garden was out of the question.

OMG! It’s absolutely beautiful.....so calm and serene......quiet at night where you are. Wish I could visit......you have a wonderful sense of design. I agree with you about both religions. I have practiced meditation and chanting, but have strayed from the practices.

I have been wanting an arbor for the property, just not sure where.... maybe In the bed where my Buddha & Shiva statues are..... hmmmmmm. Now you gave me an idea to work on! :-)

The arbor was a steal. New in the box from a couple nearby that said they just had a lot of plans and not getting around to them. 1/4 the price, no taxes. They had a baby so that probably slowed their garden plans down. The pavers and much of the stuff have been there for years. I always thought it needed something to welcome and bring attention to the entrance. Mission accomplished! IMHO
