I'd pick a shape that would carry you forward into other looks... no beige or other neutral too close to what you have in the room. Maybe linen, isn't yellow-ish / nailheads seem not chrome-modern.

so you suggest the color in the first pic ? Cafe .. milky coffee.

And you suggest the shape in second pic. Correct? This is headboard. Don’t think want to try to cover this

Also using that lamp just for now. till I find the right one. For now need new shade. White off white? Shimmer or plain. It’s a clear five ball crystal lamp.

    Sheers white or off white?

    Walls are BM linen white

dresser needs some accessories. . Was goinh silver but?? With gold handles and good etching ??? Not sure

I "slept on it" and why the nailheads? which add a detail in a room full of detailed/carved furniture... to me, a 'no'...

Your lamp shade's neutral color? I'd alter your headboard to color like that. You had shams sitting upright, which covered most of it.

Do rug and bedding, then the smaller things... you said paint is linen white - use linen items then. ;)

And no large amount of matching metal [to the handles]... but not silvery imo. Pewter-iron type maybe.

I was reading this last night, and to be honest, I lso wondered about the nailhead trim on the headboard. Not wrong but just not grabbing me so I agree- .

I think that you are getting great advice here particularly from everdebz. I agree that since our shams are going to cover a good amount of the headboard anyway, why bother. with it now.

Yes I liked shape not the nail heads

lampshade is ok. Like it to be a bit of a lighter linen or an off white. Sheers I have them . Now with room painted they look so yellow and they are new. Guess their off white is very yellow. My blinds are white but white sheers look to stark white. Maybe I can try eggshell. Just saw that on line. And I have beautiful rods. But they are oil rubbed bronze. I can just spray paint them? Really like to use them. Color?

I found many beds I like. Just don’t come in linen. Beige was the closest.

yes agree No silver. Pewter. Here is pewter on my furniture. Put it there just to see if I like pewter. ???

To answer your question about the head board. i could see doing a DIY with the one you have:

    Or:

    IMO you need some shape.

I do like the looks from RL Relocation.

    Especially the two neutrals

and I do like the color from katinpardise

just not sure if I want to be that daring to look for comforters match it Trying to stick with a more neutral look. Looking at beds now. And not sure that the pewter went with the dresser? Thanks again everyone. Love all this info. Look forward to new ideas everyday.

My closet doors got sanded today. now waiting on primer and paint Hope soon

Keep the bedding neutral in an off white close to the color of your furniture.

That sounds good if I choose that color headboard. It’s pretty! Just my thought was more a linen... sand.. beige headboard.

So hard to find one with a bit of a shape in right color.

My thought was that it's going to be difficult to find something to stand up to the color of the furniture without it looking like you tried to match and missed. Maybe something more subtle like this? https://www.overstock.com/Home-Garden/MJL-Furniture-Ali-Button-Tufted-Text2-Olivia-Doe-Upholstered-Headboard/10910558/product.html?option=16858341&refccid=2UHAIMHUUQ6KGG2MOGPFV7VRFE&searchidx=6&option=16858341&kwds=&rfmt=color%3AGold%7Csize%3AFull%7Cheadboard%20design%3AUpholstered

Hi... I posted a 'level' board, but also camelback - to me, it's enough shape. Idk about textured headboards. Your light is nice btw.

That is VERY VERY pretty!!! And would you do a taupe or neutral comforter. Pattern? Sounds crazy just don’t want to go to to light and solid cause of my 125 lb dog. She’s as clean as a whistle ... I wash her paws each time she comes In. But she is my baby and occasionally will pop on my Bed For a nap. Lol.

Now to find that in a bed. Cause that’s only headboard

They say that sunlight will reflect back colors already in the room: deep creamy furniture, and linen white paint - that might make the sheers a bit yellow idk. As said, patterned like you have currently, not so much... solid is better.

Yes sheets are off white. But do look so yellow when up. that last sentence meant solid sheers? And not white cause to sterile. Maybe eggshell?

Or when you said sold you were referring to headboard ? Thanks

light is nice. Just lampshade seems dark. That’s why I mentioned a slightly off white one

In a small room, it's hard to see a very ruffled spread, cause so near the amount of details of furniture at foot of bed.

    last modified: 7 years ago

Comforter ....Yes no Ruffles etc. just plain or a pattern. Correct

sheer you we’re saying off while looks yellow. Yes. So egg shell. Cause white to stark. Correct?

Were this my room, I'd DIY a slipcover for the headboard. If you want instructions , message me. Or search for tutorials. A slipcover can be made from a variety of fabrics and it will allow you to change the look of the room as you wish

All things come into play - you like marzipan's earthy direction? this type of gold might be a good contrast along with marzipan headboard....

I forget if you want pastel romantic look, or some deeper neutrals?

We've seen items here and there - with dog, and more - what item matters most? - maybe rug if really wanted - decide what one you find has ok look with floor and dressers.

Trying to get a full bed with the material all Around as shown. Rather than just a head board The you can tuck it in or have comforter hang over sides and not seeing the frame and matress and box spring

if I couldn’t find bed then yes use bed skirt

    This idea

the look i like is more neutrals. Airy looking. Like two of the pics RL Relocation showed Taupe beige linen I do like the gold linen color she showed too Like these pics are nice

Not exact but On this idea.

Then Use off slightly off white lamp shade and an egg shell sheer. Off white looks yellow in room.

I didn’t want to cover my headboard. Is so short. Wanted more height

Hi. You mean use solid color comforter not a pattern?

Just go into it knowing you want those neutral tones. The pewter was really what I had imagined as far as the trim, more just the shape and fabric color. The problem with that era of paint finish is it's got this yellowish undertone, I'd almost take a night stand drawer out and take it with you shopping...

    cynjean thanked RL Relocation LLC

Yes exactly. yellowish undertone does make it harder plus handles and etching are gold

I am looking for a bed with shape. Nothing basic square. Looking at pics some people make the headboard blend with the walls. Some go with a brighter pop of color. Then the basic linen color. I am trying for a med linen color .. or a Taupe I think lol

Just as a start would you go darker? Not actual shape just starting with color

I never have tucked in a comforter. Saw elegant provincial bed pics where they did.

Ive alway have used skirts with comforter or spread Hand have seen many without skirts. Yes lux

working on bed color. Want to order this week Want neutral but with yellow Undertone its harder Found a few in beige but looked yellow

    Following.

The room's coloring is yellow-ish, so any solid item shouldn't be yellow-ish… solid that is. Lampshade color is good for bedding's color.

It's bad Feng Shui to have a mirror facing the bed. I would take the mirror away and move the TV to the triple dresser.

    last modified: 7 years ago

got ya on don't use anything yellow.

are you saying the comforter should be a solid color ?

    last modified: 7 years ago

I know the not a good thing about Mirror across from bed but I really love the mirror. Will be moving the Chester drawers out and the tv can go on the wall In this room being small the dresser will always be opposite the bed

Still looking for a bed ?? i Find good shape it’s wrong color and vice versa

If the mirror stays then at least mount it higher on the wall so you can see the top of your head in the mirror.

Can def. see top of head

From the floor to the top of mirror is 67 inches. it Looks low in the pic. Just the angle i took it makes it look low

The bed I showed above is that a good color? Not that exact bed. Just the color? I don’t think we got past the color after I said I wanted neutral colors. thanks

I really think it would be best to go to a few stores and look at fabrics.

    cynjean thanked RL Relocation LLC

Hi. I did go to a fabric store today. Took drawer. She showed me material

Like These two colors. One seemed very light

I like the 2nd one the shape reminds me of the lines on the mirror.

    Second gorgeous. $$$

I used those pics really to show the two colors the lady picked at fabric store

    But bed is gorgeous!!

if the whole rug is to be to side of where you sleep and arise, this could be sweet. Smoke color might be green-ish and good with cream and with wood...
