love these cabinets.

Can you tell me the species of wood and stain color? Also, how is Kraftmaid Vantage different from Kraftmaid, and where do I find them? Are they better quality than the Kraftmaid you find at Lowe’s and HD?

Sorry for the delay in your answer, they didn't alert me and I"m just now checking. Anyway these are cherry with a cocoa stain I believe is what they call it. Vantage is a dealer line of Kraftmaid that is basically all the bells and whistles that HD and Lowes have to offer on the standard Kraftmaid but the Vantage has them as standard with no upcharge. They sell them to dealers at about the same cost as HD gets the cheaper particle board cabinets so us little guys can compete with the big box stores. I have never seen a kitchen from home depot I can't beat part for part at our normal margins, it's just a better product run through a different assembley line at the factory so the specs are not the same.

Thank You REF Const! Your response was very informative and greatly appreciated. I'd like to ask one more question, if that's ok? Are you familiar with Omega Cabinetry or Dura Supreme Cabinetry? They were the two other brands I was considering and didn't know if you had an opinion on them vs. Kraftmaid Vantage? Are they the same or better quality? Are they a higher price point than the Kraftmaid Vantage or about the same? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again. Brenda

Brenda, we have used both Dura supreme and vantage and I would consider them fairly similar till you get to the finish, Dura seems to have a much better and consistent finish and final appearence in my opinion. The Vantage line was great when it first started but has slowly lost of of quality of the top coat and stain. Kraftmaid's customer service and reps are also not as good as Dura's who seem to want to solve problems right away and take care of anything. Omega is the high end line which alot of people in the industry consider the top. I have installed them but not for 10-12 years and at least at that time they were no better then Dura but the price point I have noticed was higher for Omega but I didn't buy them as a dealer so it may be just margins from the place I looked at them. Dura and Kraftmaid are simliar price from the dealer standpoint so it will all depend on who you buy from and how they mark them up. Dura's one fallback is that they only stick with the classic woods, cherry, oak, maple, hickory, no walnut or anything more modern. With all that said when it was my place I tried to get Dura cabinets over all the others but because they didn't have walnut which I needed for my design I had to go with a custom company and have them speciality finished to meet the conversion varnish finish I wanted. Hope this helps!!!
