My goal is to do my second August BOM, two September BOM's, and anything else I can squeeze in with my busy schedule this month. The owners still haven't found another pharmacist to work so my schedule has been very hectic. I'm hoping they resolve this soon. I cannot keep up 40+ hours every week(normally I only work 28-32).

Char, I'm surprised they cannot find someone to fill in. Maybe you can do your own searching just to make sure it's being done. I have pharmacy friends in AL that would help.

I have 2 of my BOMs completed. Yea, me.

Two days this took to post!!!!

My goal is to be comfortable enough to sit and sew for a while. I miss being able to sit. :) I have been working on a purple Jamestown Landing for a long while.

Char, I'd help if I could, but it would be a long commute.

I need to quilt the Christmas jelly roll quilt and finish the top and quilt the Dancing Ribbons quilt.

No specific goals. We seem to be living day-to-day here.

I have had quilt blocks laid out on my tables since late June. I must get them put together. I promise to try.

Looks like everyone's having some sort of difficulty doing what they want to do. Must be something in the air??

Jackie, too bad they don't have those work tables for sewing machines that you can lift up and stand like they do computers for office workers. OOPS! I probably should keep my mouth shut or someone will take my idea and make billions of dollars off of it. My luck it would happen since I don't have the energy or ambition to do it myself.

I usually don't set goals because I'm too lazy but maybe I'll finish this scrap string quilt this month and move on. I'm almost finished piecing the backing and it doesn't look like I've even made a dent in these scrap bins. And I still have a whole closet stuffed full of yardage and fat quarters! I need to track down some really quick and easy quilt designs and get moving on them so I can not feel guilty about buying new fabric again.

I have my first of the birthday block quilts pulled out and will start pinning it for quilting. It's a wall hanging size so I can probably manage to complete it this month. I'll post a picture when it's done. I haven't completed any quilting projects since last summer. I just got away from it for awhile. I wish I had kept a list of who participated in that birthday blocks group. It was a long time ago is all I can recall..

I finished quilting Strip Twist yesterday and made the binding. I hope to get it bound, labeled and washed today. Fall is in the air, and my friend needs a quilt to cuddle under.

I gave away another quilt, Bonnie Hunter's Boxy Stars in purples, greens and blues, to a dear friend last weekend. She loved it. I also sent the baby Lozenge Quilt to my newest great-nephew and received a lovely thank you voicemail from mom. The only quilt I have left that I'm not keeping for myself is the Crossroads quilt that still needs to quilted. I'm feeling quite proud of myself that everything else I have made is finished and has been given away. No UFOs lurking here. I do have several months of lotto winnings that I need to assemble, but since I never really "started" on those, I don't consider them UFOs.

i took a little break from Jared Takes a Wife and made easy strip blocks for a baby quilt. I hope to keep working on those two this month. I like to keep a baby quilt at the ready. It seems like there's always a need for one. Other than that - no specific plans for the month. Except... maybe I should take another look at those lotto blocks and see if I'm inspired to do something with them.

Great job, Lois. I can't wait until I feel the relief of having the UFO's complete. If all was right with the world, I would finish the coin quilt, sandwich and finish a quilt I started last year (I haven't even looked to see what the pattern was) and catch up on the BOMs. I'll post one later tonight.

My one goal will be to come up with a design for a VFW charity quilt for my brother's post. Last year I made one that was 60 x 72. This year he wants a QUEEN SIZED Bedspread! Yikes. We decided on a really cool panel for the center, not to figure out what to do to make that 27x44 panel 104 x 104! Then get fabrics and get started.

I don't think I have any goals for this month. I've been trying to finish UFOs this year (both mine and my mom's) and I think I'm burned out. I got caught up on the BOM blocks yesterday so maybe this weekend I'll pull out something new to work on. (Yeah, then I'll have another UFO...)

I've gotten to the point where I will work on what I want, when I want.....unless it's something that 'needs' to be worked on and has a deadline. I try not to get myself in that position if I can help it. :-) Saying all that, the normal BOMs are all made that are on my list. That's all. lol But, I have 11 Christmas Ornament blocks completed, 22 red and yellow checkerboard 6 1/2" blocks made (strips were sewn together when given to me by Jackie), inventory made for making pillowcases for Christmas.....4 are ready for French seams and 7 more have been cut and ready to start. I've also been playing with those cute little fabric boxes but I think I want to put a handle on it because I don't need it as a thread catcher. Plus, if I use them for stocking stuffers, they would be easier to carry around. Maybe the little girls would use them like a purse........hmmmmm.

That's great news, Theresa! I hope your life is calmer now. :)

I did pull out some new things to work on, small projects that I did from start to finish. So no new UFOs and a break from the old ones!

Theresa, I’m so happy things are settling down for you. Sharon, it sounds like you‘ve gotten things under control too.

I’ve been really productive this month. I finished the baby quilt, Emma’s Star. I finished the lotto block top. I’ve gotten all twenty Blackford’s Beauty blocks finished and am working on the sashing and cornerstones. It‘s been a good month.

I've been bad - haven't touched this pieced backing in a week. I don't know what my problem is lately, I only have 2 1/2 borders to finish (scrap string piano keys). I've been working with scraps and strings a lot lately, maybe I'm tired of it. I also have a lot of pain going on with the arthritis. I've got too much fabric in here to come to a complete stop.

Theresa, I think having a lot of medical appts and issues really do interfere with our sewing lives. I'm glad you seem to be getting a handle on it and things are getting better for you. AND, you're sewing!!!!!

Donna, I can understand needing to look at something different than the same ol' UFOs. lol I am slowly coming to terms with UFO quilt tops. I'm making some rules.....whether I adhere to them or not remains to be seen. Twin or bigger is ok to leave as is for now. Anything smaller should be completed. Now I'm going to have to go through them again and measure. Oh well, something I can do at night when DH is in bed. :-)

Lois, Yes, you have been productive. It feels good, doesn't it! I'm starting to make my lists in a different way. Instead of Finish Flamingo quilt, it's, decide on border, cut border, sew on border.......each step will get their own line so I can see that I've done 'something' and at what point I'm at. Not only that, but it's kind of like patting myself on the back, right? LOL

Rita, Not bad!!!! Just need a break from scrappy and strings for a bit so call them Piano Keys. Plus, with arthritis? Dealing with constant pain can bring us down.....it saps our strength. Make sure your lab numbers are where they should be to keep your immune system strong.

Speaking of immune systems......I keep hearing on the news this is going to be a bad cold/flu season, so do whatever it is you do to build up your immune system so we all can stay healthy.

I look forward to seeing the finished products for everyone!

I finished the BOMs, am trimming the coin quilt and sandwiching the UFO from last year. I doubt that I will be able to finish it by Monday, but I will give it the old college try.

This month has been so encouraging, I'm already thinking about the UFO's I want to complete for next month. (I hate UFOs!)

You are all so productive! I'm glad to hear this has been a good month for quilting. I'm going to try to go down an sew tomorrow. The wax ring in my kids bathroom needed replacing, so my husband & I ended up purchasing a new toilet since the old was so outdated. New vinyl tile flooring, paint and trim followed. The project snowballed, but we're almost finished now! Glad kids were at school during the entire process. It was an unexpected and relatively inexpensive redo, but it looks loads better now.

Haha, Char! We had a project like that once. Toilet was leaking so DH replaced the insides. Then he cracked the tank reattaching it so we went off to get a new toilet. Then the bolts were too long so we had to go get new ones, and he dropped a wrench down the drain. We decided to paint as long as the toilet was gone. We opened the window for ventilation and he broke the latch when he closed it. It was quite a weekend.

LOL, yeah that kinda sounds like our project! He keeps saying, " we just needed a new wax seal!"

Char, that sounds like most of our projects.

I finished both my projects for Sept, and started on October's! With the new iPhone update my phone will no longer allow my computer to look at pictures. So when I figure that out I"ll post pictures.

OK, people, now you know the meaning of "there's no such thing as one trip to Lowe's for a plumbing project"! LOL!! We learned that years ago. My poor DH is a wizard electrician, knows how to do a lot of other things, too. But just mention the words "problem with the plumbing" and he heads for the hills. He hates plumbing, he doesn't even want to be the one to call a plumber. After the first few times trying to fix things himself, not knowing what to do and not knowing what to buy, making several trips for again one more thing for a simple job, he has learned - run away, just run far, far away!

Donna, I think we all feel your husband's pain. :) One more day today to put the binding on the coin quilt and start quilting the other one. I know I won't finish quilting it today though, but still it was a very good month
