Off topic: brick and mortar stores

No wonder brick and mortar stores are declining.

Yesterday, I wanted to look at hotel brand bedding in person and went to Macy's in Sioux Falls. I also wanted to check the feather insert for heaviness, martha steward blue towels and rug, a fabric bed on a huge sale. Not one of these things were in the store. I was told I had to buy it online.

Then I went to home depot to see LVP that I found online and was told the only way to buy it is to get it online.

I've had the same experience in Costco. I see their lawn furniture, hot tubs, vanities, and furniture online but they never have it at my local Costco (Omaha). I don't like ordering those things without seeing them first. Sometimes the reviews help.

I know they don't have the space to display everything. I also know it was a busy weekend. But, they knew it would be a busy weekend and should have more staff if they really wanted to give customers the best service they could. I shopped in 5 stores yesterday and not once was there someone roaming the section to ask customers if they needed help.

Some of the stores I was in yesterday were so so so dirty. They need to rip up their carpet and put down one of the good quality commercial LVPs I've been looking at and use air fresheners. :)

My point is that I can see why brick and mortar stores are struggling and I am so grateful for online shopping.
