Maybe post the pictures here of the counter , cabinets and the bacsplash you like. These things all need to work together and you will need to bring home samples to see how they work in your space. This site can usually help with a bit of input from you.

Thanks for the suggestion. Below is my existing kitchen. I am going to be replacing the current backsplash from the second picture. Although I know the original tile is a beautiful hand made tile, I just don't like the darkness of it. I feel that it looks dated and very, well, dark. I just want a more updated and brighter look to my kitchen. I have selected Daltile white (not artic white but the warmer white) beveled subway tile. I was just really wanting to get a better idea of what the finished product will look like and was wondering if there is any tool or program that I could use to do that. I made the poster board below which definitely helped but I still can't get a picture in my head of the overall finished look. I am going to keep this simple without the feature over the stove. Also I am lucky that my original kitchen contractor is going to do the work so I know it will be done well. It's more complicated than removing an existing backsplash. They will need to remove the drywall and also there is some trim work that needs to be done that was cut to the depth of the original tile. Partly because I am anxious to get a feel for what it will look like and partly just to reassure myself, I was hoping to see something that would give me an idea of the finished look. Thank you!
