Pickle question

I'm making dill pickles--fresh, not brined. We drove out to the farm and bought fresh picked pickling cukes yesterday. I washed them, cut off a bit of the blossom end and put them in a big SS bowl with ice water overnight.

NOW--I have my jars in the dishwasher on sanitize, my brine is boiled/ready. So the next step (after my jars are finished washing) is to fill my jars with the cukes and add the hot brine. BUT--I'm worried about thermal shocking my jars with the cold cukes.

Is this a going to be a problem? I'm concerned that the cold cukes will chill the jars, and then when I add the very hot brine they might crack. Should I let the cukes come back up to room temp? Seems like that would negate the process of soaking them in ice water overnight.

Any advice for me?

Thanks in advance!
