Might be a dogwood, Cornus species.

I agree that it is a dogwood, and since they are usually understory trees that get some shade, I think that that one looks like it is getting too much sun. The leaves lower on the tree that are partly shaded by upper foliage look happier that those which are at the top getting all day full sun, though everything looks a bit overexposed.
