Metal would be the way to go. Maybe have someone local custom design one for your small group?

We had the same wood mailboxes as yours. We had them replaced because we didn't want the long term maintenance.

We really have looked at all of these and others but I’m just not liking them for this situation. I will add that I love this box (in pictures below) but I know it’s more modern than our homes. I want simple because our homes our that style. Has anyone seen or do you have a mailbox that is not what everyone pops into their front yard? It just seems a shame that our neighborhood has $500-$750 homes and a $89 Rubbermaid mailbox as the first thing you see when you drive up. My silly opinion.

The current mailboxes look as if they belong to log cabin homes. I think anything would be an improvement. Look on Etsy, see if someone can make something for you. Just need to get nine homeowners to agree on a design!! Haha.

Tell the HOA it's time to get ride of the Pumpkin Spice paint on the houses. They all look like gingerbread houses ready to be eaten.

The sphere's on your lights can be changed out if they are discolored and actually the bronze or smoke colored spheres would look better on your homes than the current white ones

Those are some great choices, Beverly. Do you have a source? I am also in need of replacing my mailbox which is currently a bricked affair that looks decidedly DIY. It's pretty awful. My home is of the Tudor style, so I do need a traditional-style mailbox.

Thanks. Yes, I have done that, as well. Product reviews are all over the map, so I thought you might have a brand that you had used in the past and would recommend. Whitehall seems to be a brand that offers traditional styling and receives mostly good reviews, so I will likely choose one of theirs.

I dug up some of our info when we made the change.

Our HOA used a local contractor that custom sprayed the mailboxes and supports with our custom selection, placed all the address numbers on the boxes and then took all the old mailboxes out and installed all the new ones in concrete. I think we paid about $22k for 66 mailboxes but that was a few years back.

Imperial Mailboxes out of Alabama Will tell you who their local dealer would be. You don't want to purchase this retail from Whitehall.

I don't like the traditional and ornate looking boxes that others have posted. I would take your cues from the lamp posts and garage lighting fixtures and try to get mailboxes that echo that, very simple, thin lines, similar colors. You don't want them to provide a new look but rather to blend in to what is already there.

Thank you all for your suggestions and I would love to hear any and all other suggestions. I agree with Kendrah’s comments on blending .... now just to find that perfect box and post! I’m going to look into Whitehall details a little more!

I also love the new globes and paint colors (even just the garage door!!!) but that is for another day :-)
