Uneven ceiling height & how to hang lighting??

We recently made our island bigger....because of the different ceiling heights its hard to figure out what kind of lighting will work best. I had one electrician who said he can't center the new chandelier/pendant bc a the beam is in the way so I should consider hanging them at different lengths & not lined up. He's already placed the new box for the 2nd light which is about 2 inches off. I will have to swag the new light which is not really what I want to do.

Then I have A friends husband who is a contractor that said the beam can be cut into and I can center the new light box. Not sure whats the best solution or look right now? PLEASE HELP. Im am getting rid of the current chandelier thats there & need to choose 2 new mini chandeliers. Preferably with gold

I'd forego anything hanging over the island due to the uneven heights. I think anything you do is just going to highlight it. Instead, I'd stick to recessed lighting over the island and do a nice pendant over the sink.

Thanks to CV-19, my project came to a screeching halt. We decided to go with 3 pendants. One on the 8" ceiling, one just past the transition and one clearly in the vault. (Sorry for the weird photo angle, I was trying to get all three into the shot.) The fixture cords are white so we hope that they fade into the background.

Recessed cans wont reflect properly over the island. The light from the higher elevation will reflect off of the lower one and create uneven surface lighting and a glare off of the drop area. You could go with a single light fixture that matches the over the sink one. Move the box closer to the drop area or center it on the island and hang the fixture low enough to light the whole island. It can be a rectangle style light that would cover more area for you if you wish!

Two pendants hang from the vaulted side and one from the low end. Cords are white to the blend in with the wall.
