In my living room, I have some space between the window and edge of my sofa. The window gets a lot of sunshine and I like to have plants around it. I am planning on getting rid of the two bookshelves and instead replacing it with one of the options:

1) A bookcase against the wall (something similar to https://www.wayfair.com/furniture/pdp/zipcode-design-saniyah-ladder-bookcase-zipc8604.html, and keep plants on the low shelves and some lighter ones at the top). However, the space below the bottom of the window will be wasted (which is important for us since it receives sunshine)

2) Put floating corner shelves and shelves to cover the area below the window as well as floating shelves for the wall on the side of the sofa https://www.wayfair.com/storage-organization/pdp/andover-mills-georgiana-floating-corner-shelf-w001338656.html The caveat here is I do not know how floating shelves will look like if we put it so lower (below the window)

Any other ideas/pieces of furniture we are missing?

I am a novice at home decorating, so any ideas/help will be appreciated.
